Position: Voice, Piano, pre-instrumental & Music Theory

Ms. Jayne Horan joined Keenan School of Music, Castleknock in 2018. Originally from Moate, Co. Westmeath, Jayne moved to Dublin in 2010 to study Music in UCD, where she was selected to travel to Rome and to the Vatican to study Gregorian Chant and Non-Secular Music for a brief period. She then furthered her academic music career by achieving an Associate Diploma in Opera and Classical performance (AVCM) and Licentiate in Opera and Classical performance (LVCM) with Victoria College of Music and Drama, London. Jayne continued her advancement in her academic music career receiving a Fellowship of Music teaching, specialising in Voice. (FVCM (TD)).

Jayne also is involved with multiple awarding winning choirs as former assistant director and co-ordinator of Moate Children’s Choir (now known as Glor Children’s Choir.) and as a soprano Tullamore Academy Chamber Choir with huge successes at home and abroad, winning multiple all-Ireland and international awards.

In addition, Jayne served as Artist in Residence with the Department of Education under the Teacher Artist Partnership (TAP+) programme, having completed multiple successful projects. Jayne is currently a facilitator for the TAP+ training and summer courses, helping train and guide other future participants of the programme of bringing education through arts into the classroom.

Jayne’s is also heavily involoved with the Junior Schools Pre- Instrumental and Piano Teaching.
