Ms. Eleanor Chapman B.Mus. {Hons) M, Mus
Position: Violin,Viola & Music TheoryHailing from the seaside town of St. Annes, Lancashire in Northern England, Eleanor learnt viola from the age of 9 and whilst studying with Lucy Nolan at the junior RNCM and participating in the National Youth Orchestra GB, and various chamber opportunities around the UK, fell in love with performance and ensemble playing.
She continued to study viola at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, with Robin Ireland and Louise Lansdowne. Here Eleanor was a member of the Dunev String Quartet and the Gaia Ensemble, which lead to recording their debut albums in 2019/20. To further her studies Eleanor moved to Limerick in Ireland to take part in a Masters programme in String Performance with the Irish Chamber Orchestra, from which she graduated with a First Class Honours.
Eleanor has also worked as a tutor with the ICO's celebrated sistema-based education program, teaching violin, viola, beginning string sessions, tutoring youth chamber groups and youth orchestras.She has enjoyed working with multiple collaborative youth music projects, including the Sistema Europe Youth Orchestra Festival 2024 in Italy, the World Music Festival 2025 in Vienna, and some Irish contemporary music youth involvement projects throughout her time working in Limerick.
Alongside this pedagogical work she has performed with groups including the National Symphony Orchestra, RTE Concert Orchestra, and the Wexford Festival Orchestra, playing regularly in top Irish music venues, shows and studios. She continues to travel to play when possible with her UK-based sting quartet, the Dunev Quartet, and as a guest musician in chamber ensembles in both the UK and Ireland.
